Amerind for Educators

Amerind for Educators is federally funded through a grant from the Institute of Museum and Library Services, created to provide free quality online learning resources for educators in Arizona. The lessons incorporate Amerind Museum’s Native American collection of historic and archaeological materials, informed by knowledgeable Native American cultural specialists, archaeologists, and historians. To provide content that meets varied learning styles, the site offers engaging online classroom lessons for elementary school educators using images, readings, videos, and virtual field trips. Assessment tools are built into the lessons for seamless measurement of a student’s growth. Each lesson has been produced by an experienced curriculum specialist and aligns with Arizona’s third through fifth-grade social studies, language arts, and STEAM standards.
